Phoenix company awards scholarship to ASU student
PHOENIX, Ariz. – June 24, 2010 – Samantha Santaella-Wolfe was recently awarded the inaugural Factors Southwest Entrepreneurial Scholarship. Santaella-Wolfe, an Arizona State University graduate student was selected from an impressive group of aspiring students and presented her scholarship by Robyn Barrett, owner and managing member of Factors Southwest at a reception held at the company’s corporate office in Phoenix on Tuesday, June 29.
Santaella-Wolfe is currently studying public administration at Arizona State University, and the $1,000 award will aid her studies and further entrepreneurial endeavors. “As a graduate of ASU and a business owner I wanted to do something to help students reach their goals.” said Barrett. “Samantha has already achieved so much. I look forward to seeing and hearing about what she does from here.”
Santaella-Wolfe, originally from Puerto Escondido, learned the importance of being entrepreneurial from her parents whom owned a small handicraft store. Santaella-Wolfe went on to found and operate a language school in Puerto Escondido with the help of her family and friends. Today, Santaella-Wolfe serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Civil Association, “Costa Unida Por la Vida,” helping to prevent HIV-AIDS in Oaxaca, and strives to complete her Master’s Degree as an Arizona State University Sun Devil.
